CHRISTMAS - 21/11/2005

You know a lot of us get a bit anxious about buying presents. I had to get something for my sweet, 7 year old niece. I said to my sister,"What will I get her?"My sister replied, "It's simple. She is a 7 year old stereo-typical girl. She loves BARBIE. Get her a BARBIE!"Whoops! I got her a Webber... Apparently that is a Barby!BTW, BARBIE is, I bleieve, a registered trademark. How come people can buy and own words?

THE LIBRARY - 2/09/2005

Recently I joined the library. Some things have changed, some remain the same.I was using the exclamation key on the internet and the librarian "Shooshed!" me!Then later on I was yelling and she said, "Just whisper." So I whispered, "My pet brown snake has escaped from my bag!"

THE CRY OF THE 'BANSHEE' TRAM - 18/07/2005

The Last laugh Comedy Theatre stood for twenty years on the corner of Smith and Langridge Streets, Collingwood, where the No 88 tram turns the corner. This route runs a lot of the articulated light rail vehicles. The extra long tram and metallic grind of the wheels on the tracks as the tram turned the corner could set your teeth on edge. Amongst performers it became legendary: If you were on stage performing in the 'Laugh' and you could hear the noise of the tram turning the corner, you were ‘dying’ on stage. The metallic screech was like the cry of some comedy banshee or other Styxian messenger, come to take you across the….river.

COMEDY = SEX??? - 25/06/2005

For some time now various medical reports and scientific studies have cited the value of laughter to the promotion of good health. Further, anecdotal evidence suggests that those who have attended a great night of stand-up comedy and laughed for a few hours can score big-time! Often, they go home and have great and wild sex! The reason? The relaxation and joy that comes with fun means that they can get back in touch with each other.DISCLAIMER: this of course cannot be construed as a guarantee, nor does the author take responsibility for those that are just plainly no good at it. (beo)

Now why is it that the volume control on my TV goes up to 100? I tried it on 95 and I had to stand so far away, I couldn't see the TV. Hmmm?

JUMPING CASTLES - 9/06/2005

I was pondering on the method of storming a Jumping Castle. Clearly one couldn't use the old Battering Ram. You'd just bounce right back off it!
